It Starts With a Paradox
We do not suffer for lack of answers. We suffer despite answers being all around us.
Luis A. Marrero, M.A., RODP, in Boston, Massachusetts, founded the Boston Institute for Meaningful Purpose in 1986. The original name was The Boston Institute for the Applied Behavioral Sciences. Our mission started with research, publishing articles on the applied social sciences, and training professionals to practice Organization Development. Growing to provide OD consulting to global companies and entities, offerings have also included coaching and assessment services.
Following the publication of Luis’ first book, The Path to a Meaningful Purpose: Psychological Foundations of Logoteleology, our name was changed to the Boston Institute for Meaningful Purpose. This change is meant to reflect our updated mission to help people realize their potential to grow and thrive through Meaningful Purpose (MP).
In addition to The Path to a Meaningful Purpose, Luis Marrero coauthored a book titled Meaningful Purpose: A Primer in Logoteleology with Daniel Persuitte, a longtime collaborator and practitioner of MP. This was published in May of 2022 and provides a thorough overview of the concepts and methods of MP, reflection and practice exercises, as well as examples of MP in action.
Through the Boston Institute we offer opportunities to engage with MP by learning, integrating, and practicing in ways that produce results. Our approach is easily customized but reliably focused on producing personal understanding and actionable takeaways.
The Boston Institute for Meaningful Purpose is dedicated to promoting meaningful purpose psychology globally. Our classes, workshops, trainings, and laboratories are facilitated by certified and licensed logoteleologists.
Finally, we are also invested in helping firms who wish to increase employee engagement through meaningful purpose psychology training and practice. Our research and partnerships with professional psychological associations, commerce, and industry are oriented to promote best practices for success, based on sound and promising theory and empirical research. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss options for working together.
